Empowering Caribbean Entrepreneurs: JMMB Group’s SME Accelerator Pitch Competition Fuels Business Growth

The JMMB Group, in collaboration with the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech) and Sister’s Ink, proudly hosted its SME Accelerator Pitch Competition, a key feature of the JMMB SME Accelerator Programme. This initiative is designed to support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) across Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago in scaling their businesses through expert training, coaching, and financial support.
The pitch competition is a vital entry point into the Accelerator Programme, offering entrepreneurs the opportunity to present their business ideas and growth plans to a panel of expert judges. Eleven businesses participated, showcasing their innovation, passion, and potential for impact. The competition not only allowed participants to gain visibility and feedback but also to compete for a share of JMD $1 million in investment funding, made possible through the JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation.

The top three winners will be officially announced at the programme’s graduation ceremony on June 30, 2025. These businesses will receive funding to support their expansion, whether through purchasing equipment, software, stock, or accessing professional services.

A Platform for Growth and Purpose
Participants were assessed on both their pitch performance and their engagement throughout the programme, including workshop attendance, key performance indicators, and use of JMMB’s business solutions. The competition was judged by a distinguished panel of professionals from JMMB, UTech, and Sister’s Ink.
