JMMB Welcomes Third Cohort of PowHerful Women in Business Programme

The JMMB Group, through its SME Resource Centre, proudly welcomed 23 Jamaican women entrepreneurs—part of a total 33 participants from Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago—to the third cohort of its PowHERful Women in Business Programme at a vibrant Meet & Greet event held on September 24 at the AC Hotel, Kingston. The evening provided an opportunity for participants – including several alumni from the previous cohort – to mingle, make meaningful connections, and begin building the supportive community that is central to the programme’s success.

The event featured PowHERful Opening Remarks from Shani Duncan-Falconer, Senior Corporate Manager of the JMMB Group SME Resource Centre, who shared words of encouragement and inspiration, “We are delighted to launch another cohort of this transformative programme. Seeing the impact of previous cohorts has been truly rewarding. Women have grown their businesses, strengthened their confidence, and embraced their full potential. To our new cohort, this is your moment to dream big, push boundaries, and take your business to new heights. We are here to walk alongside you every step of the way.”

The PowHERful Women in Business Programme, operating under the theme Her Life, Her Wealth, Her Business, is designed to help women entrepreneurs not only scale their businesses but also become better versions of themselves. Through personalized coaching, strategic planning, and curated financial solutions, the SME Resource Centre provides holistic support that spans business growth, financial literacy, and personal development.

Participants enjoy a wide range of benefits, including exclusive financial solutions such as waived point-of-sale machine rental fees for three months, discounted business and personal insurance, and pension options with grace periods. They also gain access to discounted professional services in areas like accounting, IT, and business support, along with personalized coaching and accountability partnerships. Beyond these tangible benefits, the programme fosters a vibrant community where women entrepreneurs can share insights, resources, and encouragement.
