JMMB Group Another Case of COVID-19
The JMMB Group has advised that another team member has been confirmed as testing positive for COVID-19. The team member is attached to JMMB’s Haughton Avenue branch, in New Kingston, and is the second confirmed case of a JMMB employee, at the Haughton branch. This team member has been out of office since August 21, as they had been working from home. Nevertheless, as a precaution, all of JMMB’s branches, including Haughton, has been and continue to be deep cleaned and sanitised, every weekend, to stem the spread of the virus.
Having received news of this second confirmed case at the Haughton branch; and given the number of its team members in quarantine being tested, this branch is now experiencing manning challenges and, therefore, cannot open for business on Monday, September 7. The JMMB leadership team is working assiduously to redeploy other team members across its network of branches, to the Haughton branch, so that it can be re-opened, if even offering limited services, on Tuesday, September 8.
As with the prior confirmed cases, the Ministry of Health and Wellness has been contacted and all of the necessary follow-up protocols are being done, including contact tracing. JMMB continues to work alongside the Ministry’s team, to support the safety and well-being of its team members and clients.
JMMB received a report of its first confirmed case (a team member attached to its Portmore branch) two weeks ago.
"As COVID-19 continues its community spread across Jamaica, JMMB remains vigilant in ensuring that we: adhere to our COVID-19 response plan, including weekly deep cleaning and sanitisation of our branch locations; continue to facilitate as many of our team members as possible to work from home; and comply with the guidelines outlined by the respective public health authorities, to help reduce the spread of COVID-19,” said Kerry-Ann Stimpson, chief marketing officer at JMMB Group.
In keeping with JMMB’s commitment to its clients and team, the financial institution urges clients to utilize its alternative service delivery channels, JMMB Moneyline (for online banking) and JMMB Bank’s Visa-certified automated teller machines (ATMs), to conduct transactions, in order to limit social interaction and to keep themselves and their loved ones safe.
Given the dynamic environment in which Jamaica is now operating, with varying curfew times, etc. clients may also visit the COVID-19 Service Delivery Update and social media channels, for ongoing updates, as the financial entity monitors and adjusts its operations accordingly.
