Beyond the Finish Line: JMMB Sports Day Blends Wellness, Team Spirit and Friendly Competition

Team members from across JMMB Group Jamaica recently came together for an energetic Sports Day at Calabar High School under the theme, "Beyond the Finish Line." The event blended friendly competition, team building and wellness activities, creating opportunities for participants to connect, recharge and strengthen relationships outside the workplace. 

A highlight of the day was a morning Pilates session led by the Core Club, which reinforced JMMB's commitment to supporting the physical, mental and emotional well-being of its team members.

Reflecting on the event, Cecile Cooper, Country Chief Culture and Human Development Officer, JMMB Group Jamaica, shared, "At JMMB, we stand for the best interest of all, and that includes creating experiences that support the health, wellness and overall fulfilment of our team members. Sports Day was more than friendly competition. It was an opportunity for us to connect, move, have fun, and celebrate each other while reinforcing the importance of living balanced, healthy lives." 

Among those who welcomed the addition of Pilates was Jason Jackson, Business Support Officer at the JMMB Knutsford branch and a certified fitness instructor, who highlighted the benefits of introducing different forms of movement and exercise to team members. "Pilates was a very good addition to the day. The benefits include building core strength, improving flexibility and enhancing posture, which is especially important for people whose jobs can be quite sedentary. Many people were talking about how good they felt afterwards. It was definitely an A-plus addition." 

Supported by valued partners including CPJ Foods, Bad Dawg, Neutrogena, Trifect and Core Club, the event underscored JMMB's ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of wellness, connection and shared experiences. By day's end, the Wolves secured both the cheerleading competition and the overall Sports Day championship title, capping off a memorable celebration of teamwork and camaraderie.
