JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation Opens Applications for Transformational Conversations for Greatness Online Programme

19 September 2026

Jamaicans seeking to unlock their potential, strengthen their leadership capacity and create meaningful change in their lives and communities are being invited to apply for the next cohort of the Conversations for Greatness (CFG) Online Programme, a transformational initiative offered by the JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation. Applications are now open and will close on September 25, with classes scheduled to begin during the week of October 5. The programme will run over eight weeks in an interactive online format.

This year's programme will be guided by the theme, "The Power of Us: Where Vision Meets Excellence." The theme reflects the programme's focus on helping individuals develop a clear vision for their lives while recognising the role that collective action, service and leadership play in creating positive change.

Designed to help individuals transform limiting beliefs and unlock their full potential, CFG Online equips participants with practical tools to strengthen self-awareness, emotional intelligence, leadership capacity, and values-based decision-making. Through interactive online sessions that blend guided learning, reflection, discussion and practical exercises, participants explore topics such as mindset transformation, communication, vision creation and personal growth, gaining insights they can apply in their everyday lives.

Celia Alleyne, Programmes Manager at the JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation, said the programme offers participants far more than a traditional learning experience. "Conversations for Greatness is not just a course. It is a journey of self-discovery that challenges participants to examine how they see themselves, what may be holding them back and what becomes possible when they intentionally choose growth and transformation. The programme provides practical tools, but more importantly, it creates space for individuals to reconnect with their values, strengthen their vision and step more fully into their greatness."

The impact of the programme is reflected in the experiences of past participants and scholars such as Reajean Bennett, recipient of the 2026 Governor-General's Achievement Award and a JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation scholar. Bennett believes that having a clear vision, combined with a commitment to service, can help young people create meaningful change.

"When I was much younger, I always knew I wanted to make a positive difference, whether in my community, my country or the wider world. Having that vision allowed me to align my steps with opportunities that helped me chart my own path. You see something for yourself, that's a vision. You bring others along with you on that journey, and together you're able to move towards that goal and achieve excellence. Service has been a quiet discipline that I've honed and owned over the years, and it has taught me that little by little, every effort counts and adds up."

She encouraged aspiring participants to embrace the opportunity for personal growth and transformation. "If you want to create positive change, start by identifying where you can make a difference and then take action. Stay focused on your vision, continue building, continue impacting lives and remember why you started. Excellence is not achieved alone; it happens when vision, purpose and people come together."

Conversations for Greatness equips participants with practical tools to lead more purposefully, make values-based decisions and create positive change in their lives and communities. Graduates emerge with greater confidence, self-awareness and a renewed sense of purpose.
