The JMMB Group, in outlining its strategic plans at its recent annual general meeting, laid out increased digital transformation and diversification as the key imperatives for driving growth.

Owen Ferguson, manager at JMMB Bank’s Knutsford Boulevard branch, urges individuals in the market for a home, to prepare their finances, as early as a year before approaching a financial institution to apply for a mortgage. “You only get one chance to make a good first impression and so you want to ensure that your credit history has no surprises and that where necessary, you take corrective measures where you have outstanding debt, as this can affect your loan application,” said Ferguson.

The JMMB Bank, through its SME Resource Centre earlier this month, opened its application to begin enrolling micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) for its Accelerator Programme. This initiative is designed to provide MSMEs with the necessary expertise, training and coaching, network and support services, to assist their businesses to scale and grow, by boosting sales and, providing the necessary governance structure to bolster capacity in order to strengthen their business.  

Business leaders in the Dominican Republic with operations in Jamaica and their Jamaican counterparts with operations in the Spanish speaking nation, joined forces recently along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic in Jamaica for the launch of the Chamber of Commerce of Jamaica in the Dominican Republic (JAMCHAMDR).
