JMMB’s Julian Mair Elected at Chairman of Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE)

At a special board meeting of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE), held on Friday, January 10, Julian Mair was elected as the new board chairman. Mair is the group chief investment strategist at JMMB.


The position of chairman of the JSE board became vacant with the resignation of Ian McNaughton. During the special meeting, Jason Chambers, a director of Barita, was also elected to serve on the board of the JSE. Livingstone Morrison remains the Deputy Chairman of the JSE. 

Julian Mair also serves as a director of several JMMB subsidiaries including: JMMB Securities Limited, JMMB International, JMMB Puesto de Bolsa, and JMMB Investments Trinidad & Tobago Limited. In addition to being a director of Factories Corporation of Jamaica, Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited. He is a founding member and current vice president of the Jamaica Securities Dealers Association (JSDA). 

He brings over 20 years of experience in the financial services sector where Julian has played a significant role in the development of Jamaica's capital market. His work experience includes positions at Dehring, Bunting and Golding (now Scotia Investments Jamaica) and JMMB. Additionally, he is a former managing director of Lets Investment Limited, his leadership resulted in the boutique operation becoming a global player in the trading of internationally issued securities. 

In addition, he has partnered and consulted with various international financial institutions and the Government of Jamaica in structuring global bond Issues.
