JMMB Group Further Adjusts Operations as at April 29, Encourages Clients to Use Alternate Channels

28 April 2020

The JMMB Group has further adjusted its opening hours, in order to ensure the safety of its clients and team members, and their loved ones, in response to the increasing threats of the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Effective Wednesday, April 29, JMMB Group branches and its Haughton Terrace Drive thru, will serve clients on Mondays to Fridays between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.; with the exception of its Portmore and Junction branches. The Portmore branch will provide limited teller services from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, in line with the government-mandated curfew measures, while the Junction branch will remain temporarily closed, until further notice.

Additionally, the JMMB Portmore branch and Haughton Terrace Drive-thru will remain closed on Saturdays.

In keeping with JMMB’s commitment to its clients, the financial institution continues to urge clients to utilize its alternative service channels, JMMB Moneyline (for online banking), JMMB Bank automated teller machines (ATMs) and other Visa-certified ATMs island-wide, to conduct transactions and to limit social interaction, thereby keeping themselves and their loved ones safe.

JMMB Group also reminds clients that all Real-time Gross Settlement (RTGS) fees have also been waived by the Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) until further notice, to encourage the use of transfers, so that clients can limit direct cash transactions, while making payments easily.

Clients visiting branch locations are now being asked to wear masks, as a result of the Government-mandated guidelines for the wearing of masks by all persons, in public spaces. Additionally, the financial conglomerate reminds its clients that it has also limited the number of clients to be served in-branch, to no more than 10 persons, at any one time. This move follows on the recent announcement by the Prime Minister, and on the encouragement by the Ministry of Health and Wellness, to practice social distancing.

As Jamaica continues to navigate the COVID-19 crisis, the company continues to invite its clients to exercise patience and understanding as, with the Government-mandated expansion of the national curfew hours, this will affect its service delivery levels, including wait times for its Client Care (Call) Centre and the clearing of deposits made at its ATMs. The JMMB Client Care (Call) Centre’s operating hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., from Monday to Sunday. Senior citizens, as a vulnerable group affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, have a dedicated helpline at 876-704-3996, to ensure easy access to services.

Additionally, in light of the dynamic nature of the crisis, clients are invited to stay tuned to the company’s social media channels and special webpage (jm.jmmb.com/covid) about changes to its operations; in line with the advice of the local health authorities, to ensure that proper protocols are in place for its team members and clients.
