JMMB Helps Bring Christmas Cheer to Riverton City

19 December 2017

With a desire to keep the ‘true spirit of Christmas’ alive, focused on sharing love, joy and good tidings with others, the charitable organization,  #ChristmasInRivertonCity was borne as the brainchild of Alexisse Chin and Joanna Marzouca. In the spirit of the Yuletide season, the JMMB team has partnered with this initiative to spread cheer and provide gifts for approximately 500 children, through a joint toy drive.

Kerry-Ann Stimpson, group chief marketing officer at JMMB, shares, “This partnership is in line with JMMB’s core value of love, whereby the company is actively involved in charitable activities and accepts its social responsibility as part of the wider chain.” She adds “We recognize that, with the combined efforts and support for initiatives like these,  we can accomplish so much more and Jamaica has so many avenues for us to assist persons, while demonstrating genuine care for our each other,” added Stimpson.

In encouraging others to join in sharing their love this Christmas, Stimpson invites JMMB clients and members of the public to donate toys and gifts for children, as part of the toy drive, at select JMMB branches in the corporate area and Portmore, until December 21. JMMB team members will also be making personal donations, in kind, to the toy drive.

Alexisse Chin in welcoming JMMB on board this year, stated, “As the #ChristmasInRivertonCity treat, which is in its fourth year, has grown, it is wonderful to attract more corporate support, so that we can cater to more children. We have had support from entities such as the Sandals Foundation and Honey Bun, and I am happy to welcome JMMB, who saw this as an opportunity to share the love this Christmas.” She added that the partnership will help to sustain the initiative and ensure that each child feels special on Christmas Day, with the tokens of love.

Members of the JMMB team will join the #ChristmasInRivertonCity volunteers to distribute toys and other donated items on Christmas Day, sharing the Christmas spirit.

This partnership is a part of JMMB Group’s mandate to build Jamaica and support programmes designed to transform communities, while unearthing the greatness in individuals, by empowering these persons to make a meaningful contribution and uplift others. Previously, JMMB also joined forces with other charities, namely the Feeding of the Five Thousand and Gift of Love Ja, during the Yuletide season, to spread cheer and give of themselves to inner city residents and homeless individuals in the corporate area.

In addition, the JMMB Group through its Foundation, JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation, actively engages in youth development, nation-building, educational initiatives, entrepreneurship, community outreach.
